The former champion bodybuilder named the substances he took. “I mean Winstrol, 20 milligrams a day and shot a DECA 100 milligrams a week,” he said. However, the 67-year-old also said that in the golden era, it wasn’t about the PEDs, “It was about the reps and the mentality.” Since first opening up about using PEDs, Platz has spoken about them multiple times.

In August 2022, Tom Platz appeared on Golden Era Bookworm’s YouTube channel and said the same thing. He also revealed that he didn’t take any other substances for enhanced muscle growth. Fans in the comment section of Fitness Motivational’s video gave props to Platz for his transparency.
