At 75 years old, Arnold Schwarzenegger experienced life beyond fame and fortune. Growing up in a strict household in Austria, the star learned and unlearned many of his life lessons. Today, he spends time motivating fans and spreading positivity since he understands their value. And this prompted him to compile all the lessons his life and father taught him in one place. 

Schwarzenegger’s father, Gustav, was known for his rigid upbringing. Putting his teachings into a more encouraging format was Arnold’s goal. Here’s what he had to say about it in his announcement.

In a recent upload by Arnold Schwarzenegger on his official YouTube channel, he echoed, “Be useful,” as he reiterated meaningful teaching from his father. Over the years, the Hollywood star witnessed many ups and downs throughout his life. Yet, he always emerged with positive thoughts and silver linings. Recently, the star has also been quite active on social media, helping fans achieve their fitness goals and listening to their problems.

Taking his goals of creating a better fitness community, Schwarzenegger announced a new creative outlet – a new book! Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life. The book details some of Arnold’s major life lessons in the form of seven rules that he compiled and interpreted in his way. In an announcement video, he revealed the reason behind the title.

Holding up his new book, the Terminator star explained how his father inspired the title. He revealed, “‘Be Useful’ because this is what my father always said – Arnold be useful don’t just waste your time on yourself “. Schwarzenegger grew up in a strict household, where his father Gustav would often reprimand him for disobeying.

Nevertheless, he often admitted how his father’s teachings eventually grew on him. He once wrote in his newsletter how the lessons he learned in his childhood made more sense in his adult life. Arnie revealed, “it didn’t mean as much as it means now. 75 years of life has taught me that it means everything”. Now, with his new book in town, the Hollywood star hopes to make a difference in people’s lives.
