Using PEDs in bodybuilding has always been a sketchy subject. Most people share different opinions regarding it. Many intake steroids for better physical development. However, several accomplished and emerging athletes use supplements. But there are veterans like Flex Wheeler, Ronnie Coleman, and Rich Gaspari who debunked the idea of using PEDs. And now, Victor Martinez has joined the team. Recently, the Dominican Dominator appeared in an interview where he talked candidly about steroid usage.

Victor Martinez disapproved of steroids in bodybuilding

Today, Generation Iron Fitness & Bodybuilding Network posted a video on their YouTube channel featuring the IFBB pro. In their podcast, Martinez discussed some important facts that aspiring bodybuilders and others need to adhere to while on a steroid cycle. The 49-year-old bodybuilder spilled a grave concern about the mistakes the rookies are making.

Indicating the importance of cycling steroids and the cleansing cycle, he stated, “You have to stop, it is kind of pointless if you’re gonna stop on a weekend. There’s no cleansing on the weekend…Cycles are usually about eight weeks as long as 14 weeks…It’s a process, and most of it is actually to clean out your receptors and again to give your organs a break.”

The Arnold Classic winner is certainly not impressed, as he pointed out, “You wanna rebound and again offset it by doing some ACG, some Clomid, any anti-estrogen drugs again because you don’t wanna aromatize what you have taken before, but nobody stops these days. It’s kinda hard to explain it to them, that you actually need to stop in order for this to be effective.”

Martinez detested the idea of taking the help of steroids to look bigger, but if someone does use it, they should understand the importance and process of steroid cycling. But he also believes that there is nothing that can replace hard work.

No shortcut to success

The Dominican bodybuilder once appeared in another Generation Iron podcast where he sat with others to talk about weight-reducing drugs. There were two drugs, fen-phen and DNP, that Martinez used to sell once, without knowing the consequences they could cause. People around him would buy those supplements to get a leaner body and reduce weight.

But the result came up with a side effect, and people soon became addicted to them. The drugs in fact suppressed appetite and affected people’s hearts. Showing the aftereffects, the 2007 Arnold Classic champ then implied the simple but most important fact in any sport; there’s no shortcut to success.
