One of the iconic rivalries dates back to the late 60s. Although Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sergio Oliva have competed only once on the big stage, their battle for the title and discussion surrounding their physiques are topics of interest to this date.

Several fans hailed 2x Mr. Olympia Oliva as the best, and highlighted what stood out about him. A fan wrote, “You can see Sergio had way better legs than Arnold did !!”

Schwarzenegger, Europe’s best bodybuilder, moved to the U.S. in 1968 after winning the prestigious NABBA Pro Universe title. The following year, the Austrian Oak and The Myth, who claimed to have a better physique, competed on the Mr. Olympia stage for the first time.

Oliva, who was the reigning champion, won the title against the 21-year-old champ by a very thin margin. It was a shattering loss to him, and the Terminator star didn’t let it happen again. He won every competition he took part in thereafter and became a name synonymous with bodybuilding.
