What did Arnold Schwarzenegger think about Big Ramy’s form?
Having participated in and won so many Mr. Olympia championships, one could safely say that Schwarzenegger knew a thing or two better than the rest. Schwarzenegger believed that size didn’t always matter, focusing on one of Big Ramy’s key talents. While getting bigger in terms of muscle quality makes sense, increasing in terms of size does not. He also went on to explain in detail that Ramy’s increased stature acted detrimental to his form. His massive deltoid muscles concealed his biceps in some ways, so his whole form was hidden!

Furthermore, Schwarzenegger reflected on the idea of whether getting bigger is better. The legend feels that it’s not only a myth but it can also cause some serious harm if done in a poor way. With reference to Big Ramy, he explained, “he was already so huge! So, therefore, why get bigger! I mean you can only hurt yourself”.

Arnold’s deja vu moment
The former bodybuilder also recalled a similar incident from back in his day. Sergio Oliva beat Schwarzenegger in Mr. Olympia in 1969, due to his larger and more ripped form. However, as Schwarzenegger noted, ‘The Myth’ thought that the formula to win was to get bigger.

Fast forward a few years, the former gained some weight and grew bigger and competed with a lean and lithe Schwarzenegger at the Mr. World. However, this time, it was the bodybuilding icon who won! While Ramy’s loss brought about a lot of disappointment among fans, Schwarzenegger believes that it imparted more knowledge on the nuances of bodybuilding. It will be interesting to see how things change next year.
