“He Deadlift Eleven Hundred Pound”: Ronnie Coleman Once Claimed the Game of Thrones Actor Who Nearly Killed Himself While Lifting Insane Weight Is “Gifted”

On the outside, Ronnie Coleman looks like a man not to be trifled with. In his top physical condition, he was over 300lbs with less than 1% of body fat. He was actually one of the heaviest contenders for the Mr. Olympia title. And, he was also the most successful one, winning the crown eight times in total.

And, as a champ, it comes as no surprise that Ronnie is able to motivate the other champs as well. From his insane popular chants and catchphrases to his YouTube videos in the gym, he exudes confidence! And, what’s more, is that he is also appreciative of other greatest in the weight room. Even those who surpassed his gigantic lift records. Such a situation occurred, when Ronnie appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

In an episode with Joe Rogan in his The Joe Rogan Experience, in 2020 Ronnie was invited to tell his tale of his life to the listeners. And, although he spoke about himself, he also talked about others as well. And, when the Rogan and Coleman pair discussed about strength and bodybuilding, Ronnie wasted no time bringing another bodybuilder cum strongman into the context. He spoke about the Game of Thrones fame, Hafthor Bjornsson, and his incredible 1100lbs deadlift.

Although Coleman said he was thoroughly impressed by the deadlift, he was unable to recall Bjornsson’s name. Rogan caught onto his trail and suggested that he was the same individual who acted as “Mountain” in the popular series Game of Thrones.

Mr. King Coleman isn’t a stranger to marvelous feats and achievements himself. His professional bodybuilding career from the late nineties till 2007, when he retired. Apart from his many on-stage wins, he was also credited with massive lifting goals like an 800lbs squat, and a 725lbs deadlift. He was also widely known for being able to leg press 1100lbs.

So incredulous were his feats that currently there is a bodybuilding competition in Texas called, Ronnie Coleman Classic. Not many bodybuilders and icons have had a privilege like this! And, even though Coleman is currently old, well into his late 50s, he still has the spirit of the king. And, that’s indeed incredible.
