Hugh Jackman is getting all pumped up for Deadpool 3 alongside Ryan Reynolds. He will reprise his role of Wolverine for the big screen, and the internet has gone crazy ever since the announcement of his return was made. What’s also taken the internet by storm is his dietary plan, bodybuilding routine, and gym drills to get back in shape. However, not everyone is convinced. Just recently, a Canadian IFBB pro bodybuilder questioned the authenticity of Jackman’s claim of consuming and burning up to 8,000 calories in a day.

Notably, Hugh Jackman has been raising some eyebrows of late. Many in the bodybuilding fraternity doubt that his training regimen also involves the usage of steroids. Now, another bodybuilder has come out claiming it’s humanly impossible to consume and burn that many calories a day.

Hugh Jackman isn’t being totally honest about his diet, believes Greg Doucette

Besides being an IFBB pro bodybuilder, Greg Doucette is an author, influencer, and a Guinness World Record-holding powerlifter. He also holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in kinesiology. Recently, he made a YouTube video titled, “Hugh Jackman Outs Himself Once Again”. Doucette, who has trained thousands of diet, training, and supplement clients looked especially annoyed by Hugh Jackman’s dietary claim to get in shape for Wolverine. “He’s lying”, said Doucette in the video.

Doucette continued, “As a dietician, I know that no human being of his size and his activity level could possibly need to eat 8000 calories to put on muscle. It’s not possible”. Doucette aided his inferences using a Variety article that came out claiming that Jackman is consuming chicken, burgers, salmon, and much more, to gain around 8000 calories a day as he is bulking up for the part. Variety tweeted about it too, which came to the notice of Doucette.

Doucette doesn’t believe that it’s possible for anyone to burn that many calories a day. He cites the example of Will Tennyson, a gifted athlete, who tried burning 10,000 calories but failed.

Is Hugh Jackman hiding something?

Tennyson burned over 8000 calories but he worked out the entire day for it. Doucette believes that it’s not a possibility for Jackman. He said, “How is it possible that Hugh Jackman, an actor in his 50s, able to eat 8000 calories a day, burn them off, get a shredded six-pack, and develop muscles to become Wolverine”.

Doucette’s shrieky voice perfectly encapsulated his bafflement. He also cited the example of Mr. Olympia runners-up Derek Lunsford, who consumes only up to 3500 calories a day, less than half of what Hugh Jackman is reportedly consuming.

He finally accuses Jackman is taking PEDs and not talking about it. Jackman is 54 years old, and he last played Wolverine in Logan in 2017. That was seven years before the next Deadpool movie comes out, i.e. in 2024. Whether he is actually sticking to the diet as he promises to, Jackman is surely not leaving any stone unturned to get back on-screen as Wolverine.
