Lou Ferrigno is one of the legendary bodybuilders in the United States. The former bodybuilder was one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s biggest rivals during his prime. Although Ferrigno never won a Mr. Olympia title, he is a winner of the IFFB Mr. America title. Besides, he is also a two-time champion of the IFFB Mr. Universe title.

The bodybuilder-turned-actor is one of the famous names in Hollywood. Notably, Ferrigno is widely known for his role as “The Hulk” in the CBS series, an adaption of the Marvel comic. It is during the shoot of Hulk, Ferrigno met his wife Carla, who was blown away by his size at the time.

How Lou Ferrigno impressed his wife?

In 1978, Ferrigno married his ex-wife Susan Groff. However, things did not go well for the couple, and they separated a year later. Ferrigno then married Carla Green in 1980, who later also worked as his manager for a while.

The two have three children named – Shanna, Louis Jr., and Brent. However, Ferrigno and Carla’s first meeting was not a lovely affair, as the two got off on the wrong foot. However, the legendary bodybuilder, who was shooting for his Hulk series, swooned Carla of his perfectly toned body.

Recalling the incident during a candid chat with Geffner Productions in 2009, Green said, “I looked at him and said, ‘How big are you?’ He said, ‘Big enough.’ I couldn’t resist.” At that time, Green was working as a manager at a restaurant where Ferrigno and his team were resting. And when Ferrigno tried to talk with his then-future wife, she was unable to say “No” to him. Green recalled, “I couldn’t resist. He had this sweetness about him.”

Although Green was persistent about not talking to Ferrigno at first, she soon fell for the bodybuilder’s charm and kindness. After 42 years of marriage, Ferrigno and Green are still going strong together and living a happy married life.

Who is carrying Lou Ferrigno’s legacy forward?

All three children of Ferrigno are following in their father’s footsteps. However, none of them are professional bodybuilders like the legend. Instead, like “The Hulk” his children aspire to become famous actors like him.

Of his three kids, the elder son Loius Ferrigno Jr. has already become a known name in the industry. He is known for his role as Donovan Rocker in the CBS TV series S.W.A.T.
