Star bodybuilder Jay Cutler’s net worth amounts to $30 million. However, there was a time when the former Mr. Olympia struggled to get basic necessities like gas. In an interview, Cutler revealed how tough his journey to the top was.

“I didn’t have enough” recounts Jay Cutler
While talking about his initial days, when he moved to California, Jay Cutler revealed that he struggled with money. Going to the gym and building up had monetary requirements that the star was barely able to fulfill. He recalled, “I remember I used to scrounge up change with $2 of gas in my truck just to drive”.

The icon talked about how being from Massachusetts, California seemed like a dream with its sunny beaches. It seemed fitting for him. However, surviving was another story. Cutler recalled how he used to run out of gas frequently because he never had enough. He would often come close to running out of money, but he would still make it to his gym. His determination and perseverance got him through. The 4x Mr. Olympia stated, “I didn’t have money, but I was able to go to the gym”.

Fortunately, he found a team at the national level. Once he got his ‘pro’ card at the age of 23, the creator of Mr. Olympia, Joe Weider, noticed him.
