The four-time Mr Olympia winner, Jay Cutler, comes from a town in Massachusetts called, Sterling. The first time Jay Cutler came to the city, he was amazed to see Flex Wheeler, Rico McClinton, and Chris Cormie.

Jay Cutler, the man who dethroned, Ronnie Coleman, by breaking his 8X Mr Olympia streak, had a modest start himself. In an episode of Cutler Cast, he opened up about when he met Flex Wheeler for the first time.

When Jay Cutler first met Flex Wheeler

The first time Cutler saw Flex Wheeler, he was stunned. Wheeler, at that time, was in his prime and Cutler admired him. He enjoyed his time watching Wheeler park his car, walk into the gym, and finally work out.

“I walked in there and I’m like that’s Flex Wheeler because I had only seen you in the books,” said Cutler. Jay revealed he thought Wheeler didn’t work out that hard until he saw him at the gym.

Cutler seemed to have a photographic memory of when he first saw Flex Wheeler. He pointed out, how Wheeler entered the gym and nodded at everyone, including Cutler. He respected the way Wheeler owned the gym through his confidence and attitude.

Cutler opens up about the trio

Cutler also revealed how Flex Wheeler, Rico McClinton, and Chris Cormier, formed a notorious trio at the gym. The three were the most muscular guys at the gym and would constantly challenge one another.

Jay also spoke about how the trio would intimidate newcomers by working next to them. “You guys tried to intimidate them yeah like you would actually work next to them oh yeah to say don’t f*** with us in our territory right this is our house. ”

Cutler admired the life that Wheeler and other famous bodybuilders had. He trained hard and won his first Mr Olympia in 2006. He brought home the trophy again in 2007, 2009, and 2010.
