Arnold Schwarzenegger describes various reasons for his dislike

In 2021, the former governor appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Show where he opened up about his feelings regarding the glamorous night. He felt that the lack of a live audience and the absence of celebrities walking the red carpet took away from the glamor and excitement of the event.

I basically just turned it off and I just couldn’t watch it anymore because there was so much talent there on the stage that it was so boring – how could you make this, with all this talent, so boring?”, he told Kimmel.

The actor-turned-politician also suggested alternate locations for organizing the events. He advised that the ceremony could have been held at an outdoor venue with a limited audience while following all safety protocols. “I think next time, they should take it to Muscle Beach and have the Oscars on Muscle Beach,” he added. Although the legend doesn’t appear to be a great fan of the Oscars, he was once overjoyed after the announcement of an Oscar award in 2016.
