However, Katherine Schwarzenegger once recalled an embarrassing memory of her father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, regularly drawing everyone’s attention while dropping her off at school.

During a 2016 interview, Katherine Schwarzenegger opened up about her childhood memories. During the interview, Schwarzenegger recalled how it felt growing up as the daughter of a Hollywood icon and John F. Kennedy’s niece.

The horrifying memory of Arnold Schwarzenegger

In 2016, Katherine Schwarzenegger appeared for a live interview on Great Day Houston. The interviewer asked Schwarzenegger to talk about her childhood. Schwarzenegger said her parents would take her to the playground and drive her to school like every other kid. However, she also recalled, “My dad would drive us to school in the Hummer. So I would be horrified.”

Katherine Schwarzenegger said she felt embarrassed every time her father would take her to school in his massive truck that cost over $40,000. She felt that way because the Hummer her father drove was the opposite of inconspicuous. The civilian version of the U.S. Army vehicle, while the Hummer was a great off-roader, was also massive with minimal creature comforts.

The massive car drew everyone’s attention. Interestingly, when the Hummer launched in 1994, the bodybuilding icon endorsed it. However, Maria Shriver’s daughter didn’t clarify if her father drove his rare possession because he preferred it or if he had supported it. 

Katherine Schwarzenegger supported a good cause

In 2016, the 39-year-old teamed up with T.J. Maxx. She had appeared for the interview to promote a good cause. Besides talking about her embarrassing childhood memory, Katherine Schwarzenegger spoke about her work with T.J. Maxx to empower women. Schwarzenegger was part of the “Road to Real” tour where she traveled across the nation interviewing women.
