“I’ll Always Love Her”: Emotional Arnold Schwarzenegger Pays Tribute to Mother on Her Birth Anniversary

In 1968, Arnold Schwarzenegger fulfilled his lifelong dream of moving to America. Growing up in Austria, he had a tough childhood, as his father was an abusive alcoholic and very strict with the young bodybuilder.
However, despite his estrangement from his father, he had a very close bond with his mother, Aurelia Schwarzenegger. Schwarzenegger maintained close relations with his mother even after he moved over 5,000 miles away from their home. Unfortunately, she passed away at the age of 76.

Arnold Schwarzenegger shares heartfelt words
Aurelia Schwarzenegger was born on 29th July 1922 in Gloggnitz, Austria. Had she been alive today, she’d be celebrating her 100th birth anniversary. Paying tribute to his cherished memories with her, Arnold Schwarzenegger took to social media to share some heartwarming words.

“Today my mother, Aurelia, would have been 100. She was the best mother you can imagine, and I’ll always love her. I can’t explain how much she meant to me, but she is the number one reason I won’t call myself self-made,” he wrote.

“Sometimes It Kills People”: Arnold Schwarzenegger Called Out Young Bodybuilders for Their Dangerous Habits for Chasing Success
Schwarzenegger continued, “She showed me unconditional love, the importance of keeping my house clean, how to make the perfect schnitzel, and patience. A lot of patience. Make sure to tell your mothers how much they mean to you!” Notably, the seven-time Mr. Olympia champion credits all his success to his late mother and how she raised him with the utmost love and care.

In 1987, Arnold Schwarzenegger and his mother guest starred in a TV movie made to honor Mother’s Day called Superstars And Their Moms. In their hilarious 4-minute segment, Aurelia Schwarzenegger discussed her son’s work as a famous action film star.
She jokingly expressed her disappointment with the number of scowling posters her son had. An intimidating still from Schwarzenegger’s film Conan the Barbarian was even referred to as “cute”. In the clip, we also see the bodybuilding legend’s mother win over him in terms of strength. She easily pops open a bottle of champagne where Schwarzenegger struggled.

At the end of their segment, the Terminator star expressed his love and gratitude for his mother, owing his accomplishments to how she raised him. Reportedly, she passed away in 1998, suffering a heart attack while visiting her husband’s grave in Weiz, four days after her birthday.
