“In the Bathroom, Crying”: Days After Mr. Olympia, Chris Bumstead Makes a Heartbreaking Confession About His Health

4x Mr. Olympia Chris Bumstead learned it the hard way when faced with unexpected circumstances right before the biggest contest of 2022. In his recent Instagram update, Bumstead opened up about the injury he suffered at Mr. Olympia 2022, and how it affected his mental state at the time.

Throughout the preparation time, the reigning Classic Physique champion was under a lot of stress to defend his title in the biggest bodybuilding competition. However, the pressure rocketed when Bumstead realized he had a torn bicep just hours before the contest. Uploading a video, Bumstead talked about how he was going through the motions mentally in that situation.

Recently, Chris Bumstead shared the untold story behind his torn biceps during the Olympia contest. Just three days prior to the contest, Cbum was discomforted by the pain in one of his biceps. In fact, a night before the prejudging, he noticed the swelling, which rendered it difficult for him to practice his posing.

Year-long efforts multiplied by people’s expectations can be a tough battle for celebrities, and naturally, that extends to CBum too. Owing to his tough luck, the unexpected physique concerns left him anxious about his forthcoming performance which he opened up about in an Instagram post captioned, “The Untold Story Of My Torn Biceps From The Olympia.”

It reached the point where Bumstead had a minor breakdown in the washroom. “I kinda had one of my Cbum moments in the bathroom, crying. I got on my knees in front of this mirror in this private bathroom and I looked at myself and I was like, ‘What’s going on man?” The 27-year-old bodybuilder gave himself a pep talk and then went ahead to win the contest despite the injury and the pain.

Chris Bumstead revealed that his coach Hany Rambod first came up and informed him about how uptight he was looking on stage. Hany told Cbum that he was crushing on stage, hence, all he needed to do was smile and enjoy the moment. Following this, Cbum had a little mental breakdown in a washroom.

Bumstead reminded himself of how well he has prepared himself for the contest. Adding to that was the love and support he has. Reminding himself to look at the positive side, Cbum said that the situation could have been worse if instead of just a swelling, his biceps were to turn black and blue. Eventually, Bumstead decided to just push the stress aside and focus on enjoying the contest.
