For a champion who has been through so much struggle, fans waited with bated breath to watch Bumstead up on the stage. Not only did he nail the routine, but he did it the best of them all. A lingering question of whether or not Bumstead would bring home the title for the 4th time got an answer that night. The champion won, and his coach, Hany Rambod, was the loudest one to cheer for him. In an Instagram post, the legendary bodybuilder expressed how much Rambod means to him.

While he reflected on some of his key moments with Rambod, he talked about how his training experience was quite new to him. Before this, Bumstead trained under his brother-in-law, Iain Valliere, who also participated in the Men’s Open category this year. What stood out to Bumstead was a holistic change instead of merely physical change while training under Rambod.

“Grateful is the only word I can think of, but it doesn’t feel like enough”, wrote Chris as he expressed his feelings after the win. The champion felt incredibly lucky to have found Hany Rambod, who helped him be a better person first and a good bodybuilder along with that. The champion was still in awe of Rambod’s sheer passion for the sport and believed that he couldn’t have gotten better if he didn’t get to witness this passion. Such is Rambod’s magic over bodybuilding that his passion helped build better bodybuilders.

Incidentally, this was not the only win for Rambod that night. The winner of Mr. Olympia 2022, Hadi Choopan, was also under his tutelage. And if two winners weren’t enough, the first runner-up for the season, Derek Lunsford, who was also competing in the category for the first time, was Rambod’s trainee. It’s safe to say that coach extraordinaire, Hany Rambod, has created a terrific portfolio at this year’s Mr. Olympia.
