When Chris Bumstead was asked about his steroid cycle, he gave an honest answer. Though many believed, others refused to agree.

Now, as the 2022 Mr. Olympia season is fast approaching, the excitements are high. Everyone is eager to know about the secrets but veteran bodybuilder Samir Bannout had a different stand.

For the unversed, Chris Bumstead is this defending title contender for 2022, Mr. Olympia. Winning the competition for three straight years since 2019, he is already a people’s favorite. Standing tall at 6’1”, Chris’ physique is impeccable. Though he had faced initial hiccups concerning his health, nonetheless, he emerged strong.

When Chris was asked to reveal his cycle, the latter was accused of not sharing the details honestly. It was then, Bannout, a bodybuilding veteran stepped in and took a stand for the young talent. In the podcast with Nick Trigili, he quoted, “He’s not going to discuss what he’s doing to people in detail.” He explained further, “Sergio Oliva didn’t take more than one or two [compounds]. Even Arnold [Schwarzenegger], at his best, used two compounds. Trust me.”
Making his stand clear, the legend further added, “The bottom line is… he’s making improvements year after year. He’s gotten better. It’s better not to talk about.” Chris’ journey in bodybuilding was not easy. Before claiming the titles, he had multiple setbacks that he had to overcome. He almost came to a point wherein his career was at stake.
The tough times Bumstead faced
Fans were happy when Chris made his Mr. Olympia debut in 2017. Securing second place in the “Classic Physique” division that year, the expectations were high. The following year, however, things did not turn out as expected. Even though he still had a strong physique to boast, he was in for a rough time.

Before the competition, he was diagnosed with kidney issues. As a result, he was instructed to undergo dialysis. Chris was shocked by the news, which was understandable given that he was a young professional whose ambitions could be derailed by health concerns. Chris talked about the suffering he had to go through in the podcast episode. He shared his experience with his followers.
