The Australian bodybuilder once revealed that it was the bodybuilding legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger who inspired him to take up the sport. Much to Swoll’s luck, he got the chance to meet his idol in December 2022.

Soon after the meet-up, Swoll shared a tweet talking about the unexpected encounter. However, it is only now that the legend has come across the tweet. Schwarzenegger recently shared a tweet acknowledging Swoll’s original tweet and explaining why it took so long for him to respond.

Arnold Schwarzenegger responds to Joey Swoll

On January 27, 2023, legendary bodybuilder-turned-actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger addressed a tweet to the Australian bodybuilder, Joey Swoll. Schwarzenegger’s tweet was in response to one of Swoll’s tweets posted in December 2022. Explaining why it took so long for him to respond l, Schwarzenegger wrote, “My team just showed me this.”

Furthermore, he reminisced about his interaction with the fitness influencer. “Last time I met you, I ran right over to you because of your body. Next time, it’s going to be because of your mind and all of the positivity you’re spreading in fitness,” Schwarzenegger wrote in his tweet.

Responding to Schwarzenegger’s recent tweet, Swoll commented, “Wow. Thank you brother. This means so much. I’ve been very blessed to have the privilege to impact people’s lives and spread positivity. To have you recognize and support that, the man who inspired me to start my journey, means the world and so much more. Thank you.” Getting acknowledged and complimented by his idol was truly a ‘dream come true’ moment for Swoll. But how did the two meet?

In December 2022, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Joey Swoll unexpectedly met in the crowd at the Arnold Australia event. Contrary to what one might assume, it was the legend who spotted and approached the upcoming bodybuilder. Swoll’s impeccable physique and familiar height caught the Australian Oak’s attention. Without wasting any time, he approached the younger and posed a challenge while asking for his name.

Though Swoll was surprised by the unexpected encounter, his response to Schwarzenegger’s question surprised the legend in return. After introducing himself, Swoll pun intendedly asked Schwarzenegger back what his name was. Going along with the joke, Schwarzenegger went ahead and introduced himself.

Later, Swoll shared a video of the memorable moment on Twitter. He labeled the interaction as “one of the coolest moments” of his life. Though it took more than a month for the former governor to see the tweet. Eventually, he did see and replied to it.
