Arnold Schwarzenegger is among the greatest bodybuilders of all time. In fact, many fans consider him to be the best ever. The ‘Austrian Oak’ became the most prolific champion of his day, winning seven Mr. Olympia titles. Even at 75, the former champion loves bodybuilding, and his youngest son has inherited the love for the sport from his father. In his latest Instagram live session, Joseph Baena shared an intense pull workout with his nearly 420,000 followers.

Breaking down Joseph Baena’s intense back day

During the workout session, Joseph Baena did many exercises. While he mentioned each movement he did in the caption, let’s take an in-depth look at the 25-year-old’s intense back day. Schwarzenegger’s son started the video with bent-over rows. However, before jumping into the exercise, he clarified that he had already finished his warmup, which included 50 pull-ups. Baena also said doing 50 reps was necessary, and it didn’t matter how many sets it takes to complete 50 reps.

The Terminator actor’s son did four sets of bent-over rows. In between sets, the bodybuilder revealed he always does a minimum of four sets for each exercise. Like Arnold Schwarzenegger, he also worked in the 8 to 12 rep range for each. “The third set burns the most, the fourth set grows the most,” revealed Baena to his followers. He then did close-grip pull-downs, cable rows, and wide-grip pull-downs.

Next, Joseph Baena did alternate sets of pullovers and dumbbell curls. The 25-year-old did four sets for each exercise and worked within the 8 to 12-rep range for each movement. He also took short rests between each set to maximize intensity and hypertrophy. However, he didn’t show the last stage of his workout. Before ending the live stream, the bodybuilder said he would do barbell curls and hammer curls and finish back/pull day with some cardio. During the live session, Baena also gave his fans some information about his future.

Just like his father, Joseph Baena also works extremely hard. During the live session, Baena revealed he was about to work out after a day of shooting. “So I’m shooting the film if you didn’t see my story from like, four days ago and I got in trouble because I’m not supposed to post about it,” said Baena.

While he was “stoked” for filming a “record number of pages in the script,” Schwarzenegger’s son didn’t skip his workout. Just like his father used to work in construction, pursued bodybuilding, and attended college, the bodybuilder, actor, and real estate agent is dedicated to building his legacy.
