Josh Williams opens up about steroid usage in bodybuilding

During a recent interview with AM news hub, Williams disclosed the negative impacts of steroids on bodybuilders like him. When Williams had started training for the sport, one of his friends introduced him to steroids.

Soon, Williams witnessed the benefits of the drugs as he won several bodybuilding titles then. Off the stage, Williams also saw the positive impact of these steroids while working out. He was able to increase his training in the gym which helped him gain more pounds in a short time.

However, Williams soon noticed the change in his overall behavior and some physical side effects of the drugs. In the interview, he said, “I noticed my hair was falling out. I noticed I had increased anxiety. I had sleep apnea. There’s a massive list of side effects that came from the back of that.” However, ignoring these signs, Williams continued to use steroids and participate in bodybuilding competitions for a couple more years.

However, his negative behavior soon started to affect people around him. “I started getting very aggressive, pushing people away that I loved. I started having episodes, punching holes in walls, not being myself and I started abusing drugs and alcohol just trying to kind of cope with all the feelings that I was feeling internally,” confessed Williams.

That is when Williams decided to call it quits on professional bodybuilding and stopped consuming steroids.

Anabolic steroids, commonly known as steroids, are performance-enhancing drugs that are supposed to be used only after prescription. However, many athletes, especially bodybuilders, often use these medicines without any official recommendation to increase muscle mass and overall performance.
