While pictures from this stint went viral, the star explained how the crew managed to shoot the entire scene with real fans in between actual fights.

Speaking to Kimmel about the production, Gyllenhaal revealed his take on shooting during fights. He explained that even pay-per-view fights would have some gaps between them. The filmmakers utilized these gaps to choreograph and shoot the movie’s final fight. However, the process was not without its share of hiccups.
Shooting schedules would often clash. This resulted in a lot of waiting time while actors prepped their physiques. Gyllenhaal recalled, “I remember waiting and they’d be like ‘We think you’re gonna be ready to go on’. And then we’d just do like 100 push-ups and then they’d be like I’m not ready yet”.

The group spoke about upcoming releases when Schwarzenegger quipped, “Talking about being in shape. This guy here (Jake Gyllenhaal) got in incredible shape. Did you see his body? His latest movie.
