“Let’s Make It Hurt” : Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Son Joseph Baena Gives the Secret Sauce for Cutting Edge Biceps

Praised for inheriting Arnold Schwarzenegger’s good genes, Joseph Baena again proved that he is following in his father’s footsteps. A recent social media post shows Baena doing a biceps exercise for the brachialis muscle. Baena’s training partner who did the same exercise with him was also disclosed in the video. 

This Instagram reel was shared by IFBB Professional Leo Mayrhofer on 28th January 2023. Mayrhoer is a personal trainer and a former bodybuilding champion. The reel describes when this exercise should be attempted in a workout. Along with this, an amazing video Baena recently posted also shows him focusing on developing this back physique. Let’s check out the important details of the exercise.

The Instagram reel shared by Mayrhofer depicts him and Joseph Baena doing plate curls. The reel is captioned as “TAG YOUR TRAINING PARTNER who you’re gonna do this with! @joebaena is gonna grow exponentially now.” While Baena and Mayrhofer were going strong with the plate curls exercise, both Baena and Mayrhofer grip the plates, then slowly lift and lower the plates. Mayrhofer pointed out an important tip for doing this exercise, “You can start out or finish up with this exercise.” 


Further, the IFBB professional explained, “And then there’s a kind of natural drops in you can do yourself by just dropping one of the 2 plates.”  Later, he advised continuing to repeat the plate curls till one cannot do it with two plates anymore. Baena is also seen repeating the plate curls to improve his biceps. Clearly indicating the need to push one’s limits, Mayrhofer says, “Let’s make it hurt and make those biceps grow.”

Baena also posted a short video clip on Instagram on 7th January 2023 giving fans a glimpse of his fantastic workout. In this video, Baena specified his back workout which consists of pull-ups, bent-over rows, pulldowns, single-arm rows, close grip pull-downs, and hyper-extensions.

Captioning this post as, “Time to get THICC and Wide!”, Baena also encouraged fans to try this back workout. Further, Baena also performed his father Schwarzenegger’s popular vacuum pose. Not only this, but Baena also shares a strong bond with his father Arnold Schwarzenegger, and has learned a lot from him. Once, Baena revealed an important lesson Schwarzenegger taught him.

A valuable lesson taught by Arnold Schwarzenegger to his youngest son 

In a frank conversation with Men’s Health in February 2022, Baena explained how he implemented his father’s advice. The Austrian Oak once told him, “not to have the ten-rep mentality.”

Later, Baena stated how his attitude was to do “those extra reps and half reps till you’re basically dying.”  In other words, Baena was motivated by his father’s advice. Baena’s workout videos and his statements indicate how both he and his father share a passion for workout out to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
