

Luo Ferrigno, the two-time Mr. Universe, is also an actor, and we have all seen his wonders on the big screen. With all his bodybuilding and acting talent, he became a very successful man. At the tender age of three, Lou Ferrigno did lose 85% of his hearing abilities. Hearing as a sense is very important to every single human being present. Even with all the problems, Ferrigno never gave up and continued to chase his dreams. Later on, he got an implant, which helped him a lot.

Luo Ferrigno was born in 1951, in Brooklyn, New York. His father was ignorant of his hearing condition. Little Ferrigno was attracted to power and superheroes like the Hulk, and the Superman. Ferrigno fantasized about them to ignore the pain he faced, because of poor hearing. At a very young age, Ferrigno also won the IFBB Mr. Universe title.

Luo Ferrigno’s real savior
Luo Ferrigno loves to do bodybuilding. His hearing issues never stopped him with all the acting and bodybuilding. He was always in pain because he never got to hear well till he started using the cochlear implant.

A few months back, he shared his life journey and how he overcame his hearing condition with Cochlear Americas. “Like a complete rebirth,” Ferrigno said. He further continued by saying, “Training your hearing is as important as training your muscles.” Thanks to the implant, he was able to hear like a normal person. The loss of hearing was very harsh on him, even though it caused him difficulties in getting a movie role.

“When people start to lose hearing, they get very frustrated, they get very scared,” Ferrigno concluded. Loss of hearing is common in old people. Growing old does take away a lot of senses, like hearing or eyesight.
