Lou Ferrigno Jr. is an American actor best known for his role in the T.V. series S.W.A.T. He has also made guest appearances in famous series like How I met your mother, Teen wolf, etc. However, acting wasn’t a career he had planned to choose.
Born to famous actor parents Lou Ferrigno and Carla Green, Ferrigno Jr. Spent most of his time on movie sets. Although he felt drawn towards acting, he felt that his parent’s fame took the edge off his identity.

The reluctance to choose the path
In an interview for FLAUNT in 2021, Lou Ferrigno jr. opened up about the struggles of growing up as the son of THE Lou Ferrigno. He said, “Growing up as Lou Ferrigno Jr., I was always an afterthought. My dad wasn’t only world famous, he’s a massive spectacle of a person. You see this guy, and you look at him. I was never really considered by anyone, it was always me watching everything going on.“
However, it was when he played a minor role in one of his father’s films that he felt comfortable and less stressed. He landed his minor first role as a child actor in the movie Cage 2 when he was on sets with his father. It was when a kid was required to “walk in and grab the milk in action.”

“We Bust Our A** To Look Like This”: Lou Ferrigno Gave a Befitting Reply to People Calling Bodybuilding a Freak Show In 2017
Ferrigno Jr. spoke about how he felt after acting out that part. It was during this time that he felt drawn toward the entertainment world. He said, “When that happened and we did the scene, I nailed it and felt comfortable. I turned around and saw all the faces involved in the production looking at me, and I thought to myself ‘this is it.’” However, despite the strong pull, Ferrigno Jr. tried his best not to follow in the footsteps of his family.

After his first acting gig, Jr. knew it was what he was meant to do. However, the young boy did not want to do the same things his family did. He wanted to find his path. Lou’s father is the renowned actor Lou Ferrigno. His mother is an actress, Carla (Green) Ferrigno, and his sister also took up theater in school. While growing up, acting was like a family thing to him, which is why he wanted to find his identity.
During his college days, Ferrigno Jr. took up football. Unfortunately, he suffered from a career-ending knee cap injury during one of his tournaments. Still the stubborn eldest child, he did not go back to acting immediately. After that, he tried 15 different kinds of jobs to find his match. But none of them felt right.

Eventually, he decided to give acting another shot. He said, “I realized I got no other choice. Now I’ve got to do it. From there, I knew it’d be the rest of my life.”Jr., despite trying everything, eventually ended up in the family profession. Though he is doing well, he never wanted to be an entertainer or actor.
