Once a professional football player, the athlete began training his muscles after a knee injury. He faced Coleman at the 2004 Mr. Olympia amidst cheers and promises of a win. However, the audience couldn’t prepare themselves for a rude shock when the judges placed Markus in the 5th position.

The judges added fuel to the fire by declaring that he was not big enough, which left the audience unhappy. Recently, when Markus shared a short compilation of his “unforgettable” 2004 Mr. Olympia stint, fans reiterated their opinion.

Most of them echoed the same thought – Markus was robbed off of his title. Comments like “Markus should’ve won”, “Markus was just stolen”, “Markus was way stronger”, and “Clearly won!!!” flooded the post. Most of the fans also accused the judges of not being transparent with comments like “Wasn’t “not big enough” you were the most muscular of all time. Such a shame and really not fair!!” and “They all looked sooo narrow next to you, the judging system is a joke and to this day very little transparent. You clearly and probably deserved to win that thing!”.
