Bodybuilding Legend Chris Bumstead’s 3500 Calorie Diet- Here’s Everything You Need to Know

Chris Bumstead is a name that rings synonymous with modern-day bodybuilding. Known for his impeccable spirit and body aesthetics, this 4x Mr. Olympia Classic Physique champion is redefining bodybuilding with his style and charisma. After having successfully defended his title, the 28-year-old is looking forward to his upcoming competitions. Leaving no room for his competitor, the bodybuilding star has consciously cut down from his 5000 calories per day diet to 3500 calories per day diet.

Giving a glimpse of how he is during his off-season, CBum recently posted a thirty-minute video on his official YouTube channel. Apart from giving the fans a sneak peek into a ‘full-day eating routine,’ the birthday boy was also spotted having a birthday cheat meal.

How the off-season diet of Chris Bumstead looks like?

Having achieved what he wanted, Bumstead is now taking things slow, toning down on his diet and exercise, the bodybuilder is ensuring to give his body the much-needed rest after his bicep injury. Starting his first meal after finishing his workout, he adds a bit of taste to it. Typically CBum prefers to take 120 grams of oats for the pancakes during the off-season.

However, he has recently reduced the portion of oats and added a mix of birch benders. To maintain the nutrient quotient, he also adds glutamine and fiber supplements. Sometimes to add a dash of flavor, he also sprinkles blueberries. Keeping a check of 704 calories for his breakfast, Chris then concentrates on the second meal of the day. It includes a chicken and rice meal. In the video, Bumstead reveals that for the past week, he is not keeping a strict vigil on his diet, but nonetheless, he is making sure to get sufficient nutrition.

Though he preferred to keep the meal simple since it was his birthday, he decided to give himself a little treat and enjoyed the birthday cake with all his heart. During his second meal, he took 480 calories of food. Bumstead takes the next meal at around 3-4 pm. But on the day of the shoot, he was a little behind schedule. Keeping the 3rd meal simple, he just had a brown rice pasta and beef meal bowl that was around 720 calories.

Bumstead’s diet throughout the day  

Having just completed his Olympia season, the bodybuilder is not pushing himself to the extremes. As it turns out, he is not eating in a very calculated manner, but he is making sure to get sufficient proteins. All he intends is to recover from his injury and get back in shape before the next season starts. The fourth meal consists of a bag of various proteins that amounts to almost 51 grams.

The last and final meal of the day for Bumstead is the most modest one. Treating himself, he is seen relishing a delicious-looking baked dish of eggs. Along with that, he also takes on his protein vega protein supplement. Apart from following his diet, he is also taking lipid supplements to increase HDL cholesterol. Thus, for the upcoming season, Bumstead is taking one-step-at- at a time and giving his best.
