It’s not easy being Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s son, trying to live up to his father’s name and all his achievements. The fan’s expectations for them are forever mounting. Even though he is still questioned whether or not bodybuilding fans will see Baena on the Mr. Olympia stage, Joseph Baena has gravitated more toward acting. As he steadily makes his name in Hollywood, he coupled with Jerry Maguire actor and others to surprise his fans.
While Joseph Baena may not have won (or competed) at any Mr. Olympia competition, he has always pursued bodybuilding and fitness. And now, he has joined Oscar-winner Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ludovica Frasca for a Christmas movie. Here are the deets.

From bodybuilding to acting: It runs in the genes
At a young age, Baena, besides bodybuilding, has already tried his hand at real estate, and was also a contestant in the 31st season of Dancing with the Stars. But starring on the silver screen, opposite some legitimately big names from the industry (aka Cuba Gooding Jr) would be a giant step forward for the young man.
As per a Deadline report, Athena Saves Christmas is an upcoming movie to be released at the end of 2023. Directed by Josh Webber of ISAAC fame, this holiday movie is currently being shot in California’s Lake Arrowhead area.
This brings to mind his father, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s roles in the industry. A special connection would be Randy Edelman, who composed scores for Schwarzenegger’s movies Twins and Kindergarten Cop. He will also compose the score for Athena Saves Christmas. The movie is about a dog (Athena) and other human characters who find themselves on an adventure of a lifetime. They go head-on with a mob boss to save their town for Christmas.
One step at a time: Baena’s acting career to follow like Arnold Schwarzenegger’s
Schwarzenegger’s insurmountable success in bodybuilding went toe-to-toe with his success in the movie industry. Whereas on the other hand, Baena’s entry is not reliant on any of his previous international successes in bodybuilding aka Mr. Olympia, etc. But that makes his foray into Hollywood even more impressive.
Baena was given golden acting advice by his father, “It’s all about the reps.” It seems like Baena did justice to it. While The Terminator actor was also popular for his holiday movies like Jingle All the Way (1996), by the looks of it, Baena seems to be on track with his Hollywood stints too.
