After making his transition from bodybuilding to Hollywood, Arnold Schwarzenegger became a movie star in no time. From a successful Olympia (7XMr. Olympia) career to a successful acting career, it’s a jump very few can make. Also, a big supporter of the equal rights of women during his bodybuilding days, and he kept the same mindset when he entered Hollywood. Predominantly starring as an action star, one of Schwarzenegger’s iconic movies was opposite female lead Jamie Lee Curtis in 1994. Despite playing a leading lady, Curtis has had to deal with being called a ‘supporting actress’ for the film. It never bode well for Schwarzenegger.

In October 2022, Arnold Schwarzenegger was present at the Chinese Grauman’s Theatre to give a speech in honor of his good friend and co-star Jamie Lee Curtis. Schwarzenegger then revealed how people online have always misattributed her for her role in the only they starred together. This always angers the Austrian Oak.

Arnold Schwarzenegger took the center stage at the Chinese Grauman Theatre and said, “When you go online and look up Jamie Lee Curtis, you can see the wonderful things that they are saying about her, but there is always one thing that really pisses me off. And that is when they say that she was a supporting actress in the movie ‘True Lies'”. Schwarzenegger and Curtis both starred together as a couple in James Cameron’s action/comedy movie from 1994.

Schwarzenegger continued, “Because she was not supporting. She was the ‘female lead’, she was the star. She was starring with me and she had above the title credit. So she was not a supportive actress. So that always pisses me off and hope you understand that…” The crowd erupted in unison, applauding the actor’s commendable words on calling Curtis “the female lead”. Although True Lies was the only time both of them worked together, Schwarzenegger did collaborate with James Cameron for multiple other films.

However, Curtis didn’t let the moment just drift away without taking a sly dig at the Star. She joked about not having worked together in a while and that they should soon collaborate. Jamie Lee Curtis wasn’t the only person starring in the film alongside Schwarzenegger. An actor and comedian, he played Schwarzenegger’s partner in the film, reunited with him last year.

How Schwarzenegger treats all his co-stars is a lesson in itself

Arnold Schwarzenegger reunited with his co-star Tom Arnold, who played Albert Gibson in the movie. Both were agents working for a top-secret US counterterrorism agency. The two met on a bike ride and cherished the moment on the heels of the 28th anniversary of True Lies. Schwarzenegger later shared the moment on his Instagram page.

A fighter for many other causes, such as climate change, democracy, and equal rights, the former Governor of California always voices his opinions when it matters. Rectifying the crowd, and the online public at large, about his co-star’s role and importance in the film, was part of it.
