Arnold Schwarzenegger shares a morbid stat related to low muscle mass

Schwarzenegger’s latest newsletter is divided into three sections – “How Many Calories Does Muscle Burn?“, “How to Make Yourself 63X Less Likely to Die Early”, and “The Stress Management Playbook”. It’s the middle section that this article deals with. He starts the section by reminding his readers about the worth of building muscle. The importance of building and retaining muscle is significantly higher than most might imagine. It is the key to a longer life.

He wrote, “In a study published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, scientists found that women over 65 with lower amounts of muscle mass (in their arms and legs) were 63 times more likely to die early than those with more muscle mass.” The result was significant in men but not as dramatic. Men with more muscle mass were 11 times less likely to die earlier than those who weren’t as muscular.

In one of his previous newsletters in recent times, Schwarzenegger also questioned the need for pricey premium drinks, that target the vulnerability of the customers by providing a false sense of urgent requirement. Uncovering the other side of the story, the Predator star explained how our bodies can withstand acidic substances. He believes that the fear of acidic foods need not be accurate.
