Chris Pratt has come a long way from his Parks and Recreation days in television to be the leading man in some of Hollywood’s major blockbusters like Jurassic World, Avengers: Endgame, etc. His foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe was with James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. Nearly a decade and $1.642 billion at the box office later, Chris Pratt is starring in the third installment of the film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. And guess who watched the film recently and gave his thumping verdict on the same? His father-in-law.

Bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and was so enamored by it. He couldn’t wait to share his excitement and was especially proud of his son-in-law Chris Pratt for his amazing performance.

Arnold Schwarzenegger took to his Twitter recently and wrote, “I saw #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 last night and WOW. @prattprattpratt, you crushed it. A non-stop, perfect mix of comedy and action. I loved it and I’m very, very proud of you.” The movie even made Arnold Schwarzenegger’s eldest son Patrick Schwarzenegger emotional after he watched it. While the official release date of the film is on 5th May 2023, Arnold Schwarzenegger got an early preview of it and his verdict, clear as day, is out.

For the unversed, Guardians of the Galaxy is a Marvel superhero film, based on the comic book of the same name. The first movie in the franchise, the brainchild of James Gunn, who wrote with fellow screenwriter Nicole Perlman, is about a group of unwilling heroes or a group of extraterrestrial and intergalactic criminals, who together try to stop a single fanatical warrior with plans to obtain a valuable orb and purge the universe.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Developers Finally Answer the one Question that Baffled Everyone

Both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 were huge box office hits, and therefore, naturally the expectations for the film are very high. Arnold Schwarzenegger was in particular enthralled by the mix of comedy and action, which the MCU is renowned for, in this film.

The perfect nod of approval for the movie right before its release

While Arnold Schwarzenegger hasn’t joined the MCU yet, his large body of work in movies has covered a wide array of action films like The Terminator franchise, True Lies, Commando, Predator, etc, and comedy films like Kindergarten Cop, Twins, Junior, etc. Therefore, it’s natural to presume that he would know a thing or two about both genres.

With only about a week left for the Vol. 3 to release worldwide, ticket sales are rising with the passing day.
