Following retirement in 2007, the muscle man opted for proper treatment and underwent multiple back, neck, and hip surgery. However, it turns out injuries are not the real reason behind these many surgeries.

The bodybuilder had 13 surgeries post-retirement. His body suffered a lot with 14 screws, two cages, and two rods put inside him. Nonetheless, what led to an increase in the number of surgeries is not injuries, but broken screws. In an interview with Don’t be Sour, Ronnie Coleman explained the same and shared his painful story.
“The reason why I had so many back surgeries is the screws kept breaking,” said the bodybuilding enthusiast. “The screws broke about four times. Every time they would break they would have to go in and replace it.”
Ronnie Coleman is the winner of 26 IFBB titles, making him the greatest of all time. Even with a back injury, the bodybuilder’s determination to reach his peak was intact.

The muscle builder once revealed the secret behind his never-ending energy and enthusiasm. His diet is full of high-protein foods like chicken, steak, and turkey. Furthermore, his everyday protein intake goes up to 600 grams.
“I’m kind of like low carb high protein,” said Coleman in the same interview. “I’m probably taking in 600 grams of protein a day. It’s real. It’s kind of hard at first, you know. I’m trying to get about a pound of chicken, steak or turkey with each meal and I’m eating six times a day.”
