Like every year, all the Mr. Olympia 2022 competitors gathered on the stage for the press conference. However, this year’s setup was a lot different. Unlike previous years, the competitors stood on stage, with announcer Bob Cicherillo in the center. What a change in setup led to was a sheer disappointment on the part of the bodybuilding fans who watched the conference. So, when the Official Mr. Olympia Instagram handle posted a clip from the press conference, fans gave their verdict. 

It was not happening for the bodybuilding fans

While the organizers tried to shake things up this year, the fans criticized nearly every aspect of the press conference on Instagram. From the setup to the production quality, fans didn’t have kind words to offer to anyone. “NGL the press conference this year was really cringe,” wrote was among the top comments with 23 likes.

“What the hell am I watching… this is pathetic,” was another top comment with 45 reactions. “I miss the old press conferences like 2014, where there were all the athletes,” wrote one long-time fan. Another fan wrote echoed the same sentiment. “This was the most boring press conference ever. Bring back the old setup,” he wrote. People complained about the production quality as well.
