The former bodybuilding champion was unaware of fathering a child with a long-time housekeeper, Mildred Baena, at the Schwarzenegger-Shriver household until it was revealed in 2011. Ever since the truth came out, Schwarzenegger has maintained a warm relationship with his son, Baena. Besides, they have been spotted spending time together, especially at the gym. In the interview, Baena shared the biggest lesson he learned from his legendary bodybuilder father to achieve a chiseled physique.

The interview earlier this year with Men’s Health revealed several facts about Baena. As a teenager, he was chubby and was conscious of his looks. He had his first athletic success in swimming contests. That fueled his self-confidence and made his way into the world of bodybuilding during his college phase.

Baena believed in his ability to mould his physique into the desired shape. In addition, Baena learned a critical philosophy from his father. The Terminator star enlightened him with a change in mentality that could make a huge difference.

Describing it as “a big thing”, Baena revealed Schwarzenegger’s advice “not to have the ten-rep mentality.” He learned to keep pumping “those extra reps and half reps till you’re basically dying.” Also, he emphasized on pushing one’s limits and “going that extra mile” to achieve the desired outcome.
