There was a time when Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was loved by the netizens for his on-screen works, like in the Jumanji or Fast & Furious franchises, or his hilarious off-screen banters with best friend Kevin Hart. However, lately, all Johnson has been receiving, is backslash after his latest work in playing DC’s popular Black Adam character. It has reached a point where netizens believe, Johnson should take lessons from the man who wore several hats throughout his career – the iconic, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Schwarzenegger is among the few actors who joined Hollywood after having a successful run in the sporting world. In recent times, his accomplished career has become an example, not just for the emerging but for some experienced actors too. Fans believe actors could learn a trick or two from Schwarzenegger when picking up unconventional roles. The same goes for the former WWE star.

Back in 2022, Johnson’s superhero film Black Adam was a massive box office failure. Recently, DC attempted to revive the famous comic character through the 2023 film, Shazam! Fury of the Gods. However, this feeble attempt too was no less of a failure. As Collider reports, Johnson turned down a cameo in the second installment of the Shazam! franchise since he refused to play the role of the anti-hero.
Netizens believe Johnson’s hesitancy in being the villain has failed to launch yet another interesting plotline. Fans were eager to see the two characters go head to head because of their intertwining storylines. One fan claimed that Johnson should take notes from Schwarzenegger who, even though nervous to play the role of Terminator, turned it into one of his most successful works. As the tweet went viral, the internet shared its take on the issue.

Fans brutally slam The Rock
Sharing his take about the movie on the internet, one fan tweeted, “Schwarzenegger was initially hesitant about taking the Terminator role because he would be playing a villain, but chose to be open minded and it became his most iconic roles, whereas The Rock’s ego refused to let Black Adam be a bad guy and it ended up sinking two franchises.’

On this, another one wrote, “Dwayne Johnson should’ve been taking notes from the Terminator, and maybe, Black Adam could’ve been his most iconic role yet.” A third fan added, “Honestly can’t think of a better example. It’s even more hilarious in hindsight because the Rock was considered to be Schwarzenegger’s successor in terms of ‘action hero star’.”

Here is another reaction:
Geoff Johns turned Black Adam into an anti-hero in the comics to pitch to the Rock to get his work adapted to film.
If anyone is to blame it's him. He had clout during it's troubled development and should have been pitching Black Adam as a villain in Shazam that could spinoff.
