A social media influencer, Joey Swoll has made a name for himself by challenging toxic gym culture. In an attempt to spread positivity around, Swoll constantly calls out rule-breakers and rabble-rousers. A big believer in paying respect to the gym staff, Swoll has no compassion toward those who don’t. However, it is a two-way street. Staff members are expected to be equally respectful, believes Swoll in light of a recent incident. After an IFBB Pro bodybuilder faced a humiliating situation for something he claims isn’t his fault, Swoll had his say.

Joey Swoll took to his TikTok, the rising platform for aspiring influencers, and shared his thoughts on the same. He called for a fair decision towards the IFBB Pro and hoped it gets resolved for him. Here’s what he had to say.

Swoll said on his TikTok, “Basically what happens is Markus is putting his weights back after he finishes up, as he should, and on the rack that he’s putting the weights back on. There’s some weights that are put back incorrectly. There’s a 10 buried under a bunch of 45s. One of the staff members sees that and confronts Markus. Markus tells him, ‘hey, I didn’t do that.’ But the staff member continues to be rude to him, disrespect him, and then eventually, kicks him out of the gym”. Swoll’s reaction came on the heels of another video that was shared by the victim himself, Mike Hunter.

Hunter recently shared the video, saying he was kicked out of the gym for the first time in his career. He elaborately described what went wrong between him and one of the staff members of ‘The Gym’ in San Diego, California. It boils down to an altercation he had with the staff member regarding putting the weights back in the rack in the right order. When Swoll learned about it, he did not keep quiet.

Swoll took a firm stand on the matter explaining why nobody deserves to be treated that way. No matter how the verbal exchange went down, Swoll believes that the gym staff was clearly out of line here. In another one of his videos, in a classic Joey Swoll style, he put a Tiktoker in her rightful place.

Swoll openly bashed a Tiktoker in his account, and for good reason. The TikTok influencer was mocking an old man for working out in the gym. She even zoomed in on him and made fun of his kicks, which weren’t strong enough due to his advanced age. Swoll was fuming after he learned about it and gave her a piece of his mind. He told her that she owes an apology to the man and that she should have known to behave better inside a gym.

Not one to take these incidents lightly, Swoll has called out such toxicity in many more instances. While most of them had to do with individuals being members, in Hunter’s case, it was the other way around. Nevertheless, accountability is owed by them as well, or else the name of the famed gym in San Diego is on the line.
