The average height of Mr. Olympia winners was 5 feet 7 inches, which is shorter than the height of the typical American man. All of the winners fell at or below the height of the typical American male, with a few exceptions like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lee Haney, and Ronnie Coleman. Interestingly enough, on the contrary, Arnold’s close friend, Franco Columbu won Mr. Olympia titles in 1976 and 1981, respectively. Notably, he was just 5’4″ in terms of height but his contribution remained immense in making the sport popular along with Arnold.
In 1970, perhaps the title winner, Arnold had no idea that he would establish a standard that, 50 years later, is still impossible to meet. The top three heights as recorded are The Austrian Oak at 6’2”, Lee Haney at 5’11”, Ronnie Coleman, and a few others at 5’10”.
Considering Arnold; there is no denying that his height gives him a significant advantage and makes him appear more majestic.

The International Federation of Bodybuilding is the regulatory body that oversees the Mr. Olympia competition. It adopted the World Anti-Doping Code in 2003, to keep the sport free of steroids and other banned substances. However, few athletes find ways to stay ahead of tests.
