

Where there’s a will, there is a way. As pounds piled up, new dad, Sion Monty decided its the time to ditch the ‘dad bod.’ Adopting a healthy lifestyle, Sion transformed himself from an overweight individual to the winner of the National bodybuilding championship in a span of a few months.

As Sion embraced fatherhood, he was on cloud nine. Running three businesses alongside having new dad duties, Sion had his hands full. Hardly getting time for himself, the young dad, within a span of just six months, gained approximately 56 pounds. But it’s the journey that follows that draws the attention.

Sion Monty a shining example of determination
As Sion realized that he had put on unhealthy weight, he came vowed to lose the weight. He decided to involve his son Ted in his exercise routine. A unique way that allowed him to bond with his son and get back into shape. Thus, he soon began with his daily runs, hill sprints, and long walks with Tedi in his pram.

Taking one step at a time, Sion soon took up bodybuilding as a measure to gain muscles. His next goal was to get six-pack abs. As days passed, he saw the results. However, such was not the case always; there was a time when he “felt ashamed and shocked.” The regret hit him hard because he was the owner of a gym, and yet he let himself go.

He thus decided to “kick up the a*** to get back into fitness.” Following a strict regime and practicing mindfulness, Sion soon started to with a healthy lifestyle. Leaving no stone unturned, he soon won silver at the 2022 National Amateur Body-Builders’ Association UK Open. By winning the competition, he did not just earn himself a name but also left a shining example for his son and 0thers to follow.
Sion now helps others to transform their lives
Having succeeded in bringing a change, Sion now helps other dads to shed off the “dad bod.” He helps them by offering them one-to-one coaching. To help them improve, he regularly shares tips on social media. Sion also shares his workout videos on his official YouTube channel and keeps his followers posted on Instagram.

For the 35-year-old, there is no slowing down. He works five times a week, checks on his calories, and insists that the key to his physical transformation is inner peace after struggling with anxiety. Sion is undoubtedly an inspiration to many!
