Arnold Schwarzenegger started his fitness crusade in January, this year. After launching a fitness newsletter, The Pump Daily, Schwarzenegger began interacting with his fans, and within three months, the Austrian Oak’s newsletter crossed 200,000 subscribers. Now, the bodybuilding icon has also started a podcast, renaming his project to Arnold’s Pump Club. However, despite the explosion in popularity and his busy schedule, the seven-time Mr. Olympia still makes time to interact with his fans on Twitter. Earlier today, Schwarzenegger posted on Twitter, “#ArnoldsPumpClub, who are we lifting up today?” Many fans commented on Arnie’s tweet, however, one user’s tweet stood out, as she asked for help.

Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed the right way to approach fitness

In reply to the 75-year-old’s original tweet, Twitter user Karen Elliott asked the Governator for some advice. “Hey, my best friend in work has just started seriously going to (the) gym with a personal trainer. Yesterday she couldn’t lift her arms up & is really fed up & feeling like giving up,” she wrote. She also revealed that her friend was doing well before hiring the personal trainer.

“Could you send her some positive vibes, she has already lost 14lbs & was doing so well,” added the Twitter user. The seven-time Mr. Olympia replied to her tweet and offered to give her his advice. The bodybuilding legend revealed that the harsh approach of the personal trainer wouldn’t help her friend build a fitness routine she could stick to.

“Some trainers like to crush people to prove they did something. That’s not the right move to help someone build a routine,” wrote the Austrian Oak. While putting a newbie through the gauntlet might give quick results, it’s detrimental in the long run. “So when I train with people I start out slowly. You can show the trainer this tweet or give your friend these workouts,” he wrote.
