Injuries and diseases are not unusual in the sport of bodybuilding. Many accomplished bodybuilders have previously faced severe injuries and life-threatening diseases. Likewise, Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy ’ Elssbiay’s fitness coach Dennis James is currently battling pneumonia. The former IFBB pro took to his Instagram to talk about the health condition that is holding him back in the hospital.

This update seemed to have surprised not just the fitness instructor but the community and fans at large too. It seems he will be confined to his hospital bed for a while.

Dennis James is battling with his life in Germany

James is a former Men’s Open pro who won several titles like the 1995 NABBA Mr. Universe, 2001 Grand Prix Hungary, 2009 IFBB Tampa Pro, and so on. The German-American flourished in the 90s and 2000s and fought against heavy hitters like Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, and Phil Heath in Mr. Olympia. In fact, he secured third place in the 2012 Master’s Olympia. Even after his retirement from competitive bodybuilding, James still trains first listers like Big Ramy.

However, as per his latest Instagram post, the former Mr. Olympia competitor is now in Germany battling with an inflammatory condition, pneumonia. “Guess I won’t be flying home tomorrow morning. Sunday night I ended up in the hospital here in Germany where I was diagnosed with pneumonia. Thank god for great hospitals and doctors,” he wrote in the caption.

The bodybuilding fraternity took a step forward wishing him a speedy recovery.

Bodybuilding world blesses him for recovery

Hoping for the betterment of his health, one fan commented, “Speedy recovery Chief.” Continuing the same thread, another user added,God bless my friend.” Another person emotionally wrote, “Sorry brother heal up.” Certainly, bodybuilding enthusiasts cannot see him lying in the bed like this. As they penned, “Be well soon, champ,” “Get well soon big guy!”, and “God speed DJ.”

James specified that he’s received fantastic care while under the weather, as noted by his thumbs-up in the post. Commenting on that, one added, “You’ll be fine! Deutschland has excellent hospitals and Doctors.”
