Both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone have said on several occasions that they didn’t get along well. The fight was to establish oneself as the biggest action superstar in Hollywood by whatever means possible. Hence, sometimes they used deceit, and a couple of times, they even tried to jeopardize each other’s careers.
When Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone’s rivalry turned violent
Sylvester Stallone turned 76 yesterday. Perhaps the age may have made him calm, but at the prime of his rivalry with Arnold, he wasn’t as peaceful as he is today. During the 1977 Golden Globes Stallone’s film ‘Rocky’ won Best Motion Picture. However, all those years he didn’t win, hatred for Arnold was brewing in his heart.

Stallone recalls the moment vividly as he said, “I managed to grab this giant bowl of flowers and heaved it in his direction. It had lilies and tulips… It began a ten-year battle royale. And I thought: The gauntlet is down.”
He further added that both, “couldn’t stand to be in the same galaxy together” because of their “violent hatred” for each other.

Arnold returned the favor by tricking Stallone into signing a bad script
When Arnold got the script of ‘Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot,’ he knew that it was bad. However, when Sly called him to inquire about the same film, he said, “Yes, I was thinking about doing it. This is a really brilliant idea, this movie.” The movie was a massive flop, as expected by the bodybuilding legend. Hence, he was able to trick Sly into signing such a film.

Now that both the actors look back at their rivalry, it is something that they both laugh about. Their feud was nothing but their ego collapsing with each other. However, on the bright side, it helped them become the best versions of themselves. Today, both of them are two of the biggest Hollywood superstars.
