Hummers, Mercedes, and a fully-functioning tank – superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger put his wealth to good use with his fabulous car collection. The former bodybuilder has a wide range of cars that could only be a common man’s dream. From vintage to classic to sports, Arnold has them all. However, giving away one of the cars to his son wasn’t his best decision.

In an interview, Arnold once talked about how his son took his car to get it pimped. But being a 14-year-old, his choices were different from what an adult might wish for. So, what happened to the car?

Arnold Schwarzenegger has always been a doting father to all his children. Although he was firm in his ideals, the star made sure his children had space for growth. While he would teach them the concepts of profit and loss at an early age, he would also let them trade cards and sell lemonade to understand it practically. However, this leverage cost him one of his precious cars.

In an interview with GQ, the star faced the reality of understanding the difference between adults and children. He mentioned that a child’s dream could be very different from that of an adult. This meant that one couldn’t judge children over their childish dreams, even if they were regrettable.

The bodybuilder clarified with a real-life incident from his life. Arnold said, “You can’t compare kids with adults. They have different dreams. My 14-year-old son, for example, loves that MTV show Pimp My Ride, and he took one of my cars last year and pimped it out”. Inspired by this, the former bodybuilder’s son took his dad’s car for a spin and modified it. However, his aesthetic taste was obviously different than his dad’s choice. Arnold recalled, “You should see it – leopard-skin seats and everything.”

While it isn’t clear as to which of the sons did it, he stressed that a child’s perception would always differ from that of an adult. Which is why their dreams are always different. While Arnold would always try to make his children independent at a young age, he would allow them to grow, even if it cost him his car. What do you think about this anecdote?
