Lou Ferrigno overcame all odds to carve out a successful bodybuilding career. Born and brought up in a humble background, he could not afford to buy weights to train. However, that didn’t stop him from pursuing his passion for bodybuilding. Ferrigno made his own weights using pails and cement.

The hard work done during his childhood bore fruit as he went on to clinch Mr. America and Mr. Universe titles. He had an intriguing rivalry with Arnold Schwarzenegger and also featured in his famous documentary, Pumping Iron.

Apart from bodybuilding, Ferrigno also ventured into filmography, where he was widely accepted by the audience. One of his most stellar performances came in The Incredible Hulk series, where he played the role of Hulk. Recently, Ferrigno is preparing to portray his never-seen-before avatar.

During an interview, the 70-year-old opened up about his cannibalistic pig farmer role in the movie ‘The Hermit’. Talking about this, he said, “Most people are surprised that I’ve never really entered the horror space before now.”

The movie is set to be released on December 30th, 2022. Directed by Salvatore Sclafani, it will also feature the likes of Malina Weissman, Donna Pieroni, and Carlease Burke apart from Ferrigno. The film is based on Eric and Lisa, who bump into the home of the murderous farmer, played by Ferrigno during their fishing trip.

Just weeks after winning his second Mr. Universe title, Ferrigno entered the Mr. Olympia competition where he battled against Arnold. It was Ferrigno’s first attempt in this competition.
