“There’s No Room for Mistakes”: Arnold Schwarzenegger Warned Legendary Director James Cameron Before Starting the Shoot of Terminator 2

Arnold Schwarzenegger played many roles in his life. The legend started as a bodybuilder, became a great actor, and made it in politics too. The world knows him as ‘The Terminator’ – one of his most successful roles. However, the actor aims to win in every field, and that would require finesse.

Speaking about his experience filming ‘The Terminator’, the icon once talked about his interaction with the legendary director James Cameron. While shooting the second installation of the franchise, the actor came across some mistakes in the previous film. What were these mistakes, and what did the legend do to avoid them?

Arnold Schwarzenegger leaves no room for mistakes

The bodybuilder-turned-actor is particular about playing a role. Speaking about the second installment, his costar Gabriel Luna said how their roles were meant to feel natural. It meant that something as simple as shooting a gun shouldn’t cause the actor to blink. However, when Schwarzenegger played the Terminator for the first time, he faced some challenges.

Speaking about natural movements, the bodybuilder revealed he made some mistakes while filming the first Terminator movie. He talked about how he blinked in certain shots where he was supposed to shoot a gun. However, the actor later spoke to the legendary director and movie writer, James Cameron, about the same. He expressed that these mistakes would not happen in the 2nd installment.

“The no blinking,” Arnold says, “is very difficult to do. In the first movie, we made mistakes where I did blink.” You can see it, he explains, if you look closely at the scene where the Terminator kicks in the door of one of the other Sarah Connors before shooting her. “And then when we got to the second movie, I said to Jim [Cameron], ‘There’s no room for mistakes. There will be no blinking, ever.

Schwarzenegger has a winning mindset. Whether it’s reigning over Mr. Olympia’s throne or mastering the role of the Terminator – the legend is on top of them all. Owning one’s mistakes and putting effort to solve them is the way of a true champion. And Schwarzenegger went as far as to warn the director and leave no room for mistakes. The legend’s role as the Terminator is evergreen. And considering his excellent physique, the star can pull off the role even in current times.
