While many celebrities get in shape for movie roles, Mark Wahlberg is among those actors who treat fitness as a passion. Even before becoming a multi-millionaire, Mark Wahlberg was a fitness fiend like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The two-time Academy Award nominee made fitness an integral part of life, irrespective of the acting gigs he takes on. Besides bodybuilding, the 51-year-old is also a proponent of functional training. Hence in 2019, Wahlberg invested in the functional fitness company F45.

However, the past few years have been tough for F45. Co-founder Adam Gilchrist stepped down as CEO in July 2022, and recently F45 laid off 45% of its onsight staff. However, Mark Wahlberg has now taken a more active role in saving his dying business. The newly appointed Chief Brand Officer, Wahlberg, promised to revamp the company’s promotional efforts. Now, he’s doing exactly what he promised.

The bodybuilding enthusiast who trains regularly at 4 am, is turning into a personal trainer for everyone who sings up for Wahlberg week. The Wahlberg week, lasting from April 17 to 23 will be the first of many special promotional events. The Departed actor feels that such efforts are the first steps toward reviving the beleaguered Aussie fitness brand.

In 2019, when the $400 million worth action-star invested in F45, the company was worth around $450 million. The two-time Academy Award nominee believes in the uniqueness of F45’s workout programs. He also believes the innovation-driven company could bounce back with proper promotion.
