“Road to 505 Let’s Go Baby”: 2X World Strongest Man Plots to Break the All-Time Deadlift World Record

Tom Stoltman, who is the two-time reigning World’s Strongest Man champion, recently shared a video revealing his Road to 505 challenge. He shared how he plans to pull a record-breaking 505-kilogram deadlift. The big plans revealed in the video are really interesting!

Tom Stoltman is a professional British strongman competitor who has been winning the World’s Strongest Man championship since 2021. He has many related records as well to his name. He is fondly called the Albatross due to his sizeable arm span.

Tom Stoltman wants to create a record

Stoltman recently shared a video showing himself preparing for an unreal task. He has taken up a challenge to pull an astonishing 505 kilogram deadlift. The current record is at 501 kilograms and hence, if Stoltman pulls off this attempt at lifting 505 kilograms, it would be record-breaking, and that too, by a fair margin.

Talking more about the record attempt, Stoltman said, “Road to 505 let’s go baby. I will ramp up to 300kgs without belt and then onto 505 kgs.” He shared that as a part of the preparation, he will first get comfortable doing 300kgs reps without a belt.

Once he gets comfortable at 300kgs,  he will slowly ramp up to 505 kgs and try breaking the previous attempt of 501kgs. The previous record of 501kgs itself is no mean feat and, hence breaking that would be a tough task, although Stoltman makes it look easy. He is in brilliant shape right now considering how easily he reps with 250kgs and hence, fans are hopeful that he will be able to break the record.

From training in a garage to owning own gym

Stoltman, along with his brother, opened a commercial gym in Invergordon. It is called the Stoltman Strength Centre. Earlier, they used to train in their garage, but have since moved to train in their own gym. This also shows that the brothers had pretty humble beginnings and then went on to achieve success with their bodybuilding endeavors.
