As it stands today, the cost of obesity is already 2.4% of the entire global GDP, a number that is crazy to think about,” Schwarzenegger wrote. The stats Arnie revealed might seem insane, but the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has said that as of 2022, all 50 American states have an over 20% obesity rate.

According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, over 42% of American adults are obese, and 30.7% are overweight. The bodybuilding legend stated if these numbers keep climbing, the future looks grim. “According to the World Obesity Federation, the cost of obesity could run as high as $4.32 trillion per year by 2035,” Schwarzenegger revealed in The Pump Daily.
