Ronnie Coleman is that one individual in bodybuilding and powerlifting who can proudly flaunt his success of being “better” than everyone in the sport. During his epic career, Ronnie had won 8 consecutive Mr. Olympia titles, squatted 800 pounds, and set a benchmark. These earned him the title “The King,” something even the former bodybuilder and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger couldn’t achieve.

All of Ronnie’s majestic activities abruptly stopped when he suffered a herniated disk. Not the one to be daunted by it, he went on to be active with that injury for the entire following decade. Recently, a video clip surfaced online of Ronnie sitting face to face with the one and only Joe Rogan, talking about that phase of his life.

Ronnie Coleman opens up about Joe Rogan’s help

When this ex-Mr. Olympia came on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” fans were in for quite a ride. At the time of this podcast, Coleman was 56 and well over his competition days. Yet, he managed to keep himself in pristine shape. In the episode, Coleman opened up about how he had managed to compete and win all the Mr. Olympia titles while bearing a herniated disk.

But, just like Arnold Schwarzenegger, he never gave up. In fact, he loved it. “When you do something that you truly love and enjoy doing, that’s what you look forward to doing all the time regardless of how you feel,”

But during these years, Ronnie and Joe became acquaintances, the latter Joe helped him regarding his issues. After he retired from bodybuilding, Ronnie underwent terrible medical procedures, including a stem cell treatment. It is here that Rogan became a massive help to him.

He was open about how tremendously he’s been assisted by the podcaster. “Joe helped me tremendously after that podcast. I’ve had three of those treatments so far, and they have taken care of the pain level that I’ve been feeling.”

What’s next for “The King”?

Even with all the ongoing treatments, this legend still has some time left to recover. His body has taken enough of a beating, causing him to now be permanently bound to either a wheelchair or crutches.
