Last weekend at Mr. Olympia 2022, a hilarious incident unfolded for the audience. Two bodybuilders were seen running off stage as the next batch of contestants was announced to come on. The two IFBB pros in question are James Hollingshead and Antoine Vaillant. Both bodybuilders are relatively new to the bodybuilding industry yet have not failed to catch the media’s attention during the competition.

Both the athletes comically hurried off stage after refusing to leave at first. Hollingshead later shared a video of the incident on his Instagram on December 18. Furthermore, the athletes were questioned about their strange antics, to which they had a humorous response.

Bodybuilding icons up for well-timed comedy

British IFBB professional James Hollingshead and Canadian bodybuilder Antoine Vaillant had a funny experience during this year’s Mr. Olympia, which was held in Vegas. The two athletes refused to leave the stage after their round was over and later hurried backstage as all their fellow companions had already departed.

Hollingshead shared a video of the funny incident. “Wanted by the Olympia police for refusing to leave the stage,” wrote James Hollingshead.

He also includes the reason for their delayed departure. “When asked why they failed to leave promptly they replied The Olympia stage is was warm and it’s too cold outside,” reads the caption of his IG post. Surely enough, the warmth of Mr. Olympia’s stage, which has won the hearts of millions of bodybuilding fans worldwide over decades, is tough to let go of. “Happy Christmas ya filthy animals,” concludes a candid Hollingshead.

Mr. Olympia 2022 was a shocker for bodybuilding fans

This year’s edition of the Olympia saw Hadi Choopan securing the first position. Two times consecutive defending champion Big Ramy fell short by quite a few ranks, finishing the competition in fifth place.

Fans of the sport resonated with the judges while criticizing Ramy’s inability to complete poses. In a drastic turn of events, the 35-year-old Iranian strength athlete dethroned the reigning champion and shocked everyone when he became the first from his nation to win the title. He won Mr. Olympia and also whopping prize money of $400,000.
