Arnold Schwarzenegger has seen tough days as a child. Growing up in “a country that suffered the loss of its democracy,” the ace bodybuilder knew what it needed to build a better society. He spent his childhood in Austria, a Nation that faced the wrath of World War 2. With limited opportunities and scared resources, Arnie had no option but to migrate to America.

However, for Arnold, joining politics was a conscious call, but for his ex-wife, Maria, such was hardly the case. Coming from a family of political elites, Maria is the prodigy of the famous Kennedy clan. Though, she never intended to join politics, but when Arnold ran for the Governorship of California in 2003, she could no longer remain passive.
Arnold’s decision made her concerned
Maria is no stranger to the world of politics; even before she could comprehend the complexities of the role, she got exposed to it. Throughout her childhood, she saw her living room corridors flooding with people. As her uncles, Jack, Bobby, and Teddy Kennedy, prepared for their Presidential election campaigns.

She faced hurdles even when her father decided to run for the Democratic presidential nomination. As public figures, their private lives were felt topsy-turvey. The invasion of privacy, the dread of 24-hour schedulers, the agony of rejection Maria knew it all.
A mother of four young kids then could not help but worry. Speaking with Vanity Fair, she once said, “I was worried.… I did not like politics.” She added, “I did not like the all-encompassing part of it. I worried about the kids and what it would do to our lives.” However, following her mother’s advice, she stood beside Arnold as his pillar of strength.

Maria Shriver supported Arnold Schwarzenegger to the fullest
Even though she had to resign from her role as a journalist to help Arnold fulfill his dream, Maria had no regrets! She realized, “There would be something wrong if I didn’t weigh in with my husband.” She was there throughout Arnie’s campaign and tenure at the office.

Maria could have chosen a different life. However, she consciously decided to live a life again that she was not that fond of. She assisted Arnold by placing calls and compiling lists and attending meetings. In fact, she got herself so invested that even sometimes Arnold had to remind her that he needed to rest.
