“You Were Lakers, Celtics That’s It”: 7X Mr. Olympia Phil Heath Once Shared an Interesting Take On His Rivalry With Kai Greene

It was the year 2012. Phil Heath was looking to defend his Mr. Olympia title and claim his second win at the competition. However, challenging him was his compatriot, Kai Greene. In the end, it was Heath, who used his experience to emerge victorious. He finished with 10 points, while Greene came in second with 20 points.

The rivalry between Heath and Greene is considered to be one of the greatest in the last decade. The former went on to defeat Greene in 2013 and 2014 as well to reign in his supremacy. However, Greene gave Heath a run for his money with his physique. Greene is considered one of the greatest bodybuilders to have never won the Mr. Olympia title. Heath once had an interesting comparison of his rivalry with Greene.

What did Phil Heath say about Kai Greene?

During an interview, the seven-time Mr. Olympia explained how Greene made him better. Talking about this, he said, “That is one of the most dense bodybuilders I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Further, he went on to add, “His muscle is f***ing crazy and I love the fact that he and I split people down the middle, Yankees and Red Sox, you were Lakers Celtics that’s it.”

Greene hasn’t competed at Mr. Olympia after an extremely fiery press conference spat with Heath in 2014. However, he never formally announced his retirement and continually hints at competing on bodybuilding’s biggest stage.

Heath predicts the 2022 Mr. Olympia winner

The 42-year-old will be a part of the 2022 Mr. Olympia later this year as a commentator, giving his insights and expertise to all the onstage drama. He has also predicted who will come out on top in this mega-event. Heath believes Big Ramy is still the favorite to win this year.

However, he will face a stern challenge from the likes of Hadi Choopan and Brandon Curry. The 2022 edition of Mr. Olympia will take place at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort & Casino from December 15-18.
