Most people, especially athletes, are apprehensive about surgeries – but not Lou Ferrigno. Besides the fame and love from his fans, Ferrigno is extremely thankful for his cochlear implant surgery. For someone who has struggled with hearing impairment since childhood, the surgery seems to have changed the actor’s life.

Ferrigno is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film, ‘The Hermit’, where he will play the role of a ‘cannibalistic pig farmer’. Despite his occupied schedule, ‘The Hulk’ took to Instagram to share an important update regarding his hearing aid. In the video, Ferrigno appeared in his character suit and shared how even though the entire set was quiet, he could hear someone speaking from a distance. In his latest Instagram, Ferrigno shared a delightful experience from the sets of his upcoming movie.

Lou Ferrigno recommends this surgery

The star explained, “I wanna say thank you to Cochlear because I was able to hear the person talking that far away, understanding the person is magnificent. Helps me so much to understand. ‘Cause you see the hair piece that has on, I have extensions and the implants right here. Everything’s just worked in.”

As some might be unaware, Ferrigno had lost 85% of his hearing because of nerve damage since his childhood. Thus, the cochlear surgery came as a blessing for him. He also recommended the surgery to people with similar issues and shared his experience with them. “So wonderful to have the cochlear [implant] to sit on the set, knowing I can hear everything, every sound. It’s so wonderful and I’m so appreciative I had this one,” added Ferrigno.

However, this is not the only time the legendary star has appreciated this surgery. Post the implant, in 2021, Ferrigno disclosed how it helped him understand different consonants better.

For years, Ferrigno had been struggling with his hearing disability and looking for an improved solution. Hence, when his 2021 cochlear surgery was a success, the actor felt a significant change in his everyday life.

Once, the famous superstar also revealed how he could now differentiate between various consonants, something which he never experienced before the surgery. Ferrigno benefitted from several hearing experiences after the implant. Talking about the experience is an emotional affair for ‘The Hulk’.

Ferrigno seems absolutely pleased with the outcome of the life-changing surgery,  and advises it to others, as well.
